Design of a small space..
my design of s small space..
there are couple of reasons why i chose to use the site beside ben and jerry to put my space..
i felt that it was a site that was in the direct current of flow of human traffic.
it was also the space that was directly under the sun hence there was room to play with the idea of using natural light in my design of a small space.
i intend to incorporate a few ideas into this design.
firstly a flow liquid, solid and gaseous states of matter.
In verticle circulation.
Heights of diffferent gradiations show the movement of solid to liquid to gas.
also, i want to incorporate the idea of a roof top garden to allow the guests to interact with the surroundings.
also the idea of private and public space i would try to demarcate using different materials.
incorporating the ideas of curved walls, from corbu, i would also want to give the cuboid room a very different and unexpected feel.
Using the ribbon strip windows, i also hope to show a performance when people walk through the exhibition. By elevating the floor of the space and lowering the ribbon strip window, passers by will see legs moving through the design space instead of the top half of the bodies of people walking through the exhibit.

finally, by incorporating different modes of circulation like verticle circulation to create a transition from one treshold to another, i hope to bring out what corbu and meiers has done to separate publid and private space using stairs. and even ramps.

yah... so like.. these are the main governing ideas behind this design of a small space..
